The 4090 is a little over 2 years old. By default all come with a 3 year warranty. So you'll definitely have some warranty when buying used.

Do companies even respect transferred warranty here? Also 3 years vs 1 year is still a little worrisome to me :/
No retailer or distributor will ever bother to ask who the original warranty belongs to, as long as you have the original bill.

Yeah they 5070Ti is going to be about 5% slower than the 4080 and about 20% faster than the 4070Ti which is a bit better but still nowhere near what would be qualified as a decent upgrade. This is actually worse than the 20 series, at least it was available on launch close to MSRP prices.
Compared specifically to the 4080/super
The 5080 is the new 4080 12GB they just don't have a good 4080 this generation. From the last lauch Nvidia learned how to hide that and I hope that no one buys the 5080 and it sits on shelves just like the $1200 4080 did.

RTX 5080 pre-orders have started in India. Vendors are saying delivery by 5th Feb. Vedant and PrimeABGB have listed products on their website but without price.

Nobody should buy the any of the 50 series imo the fact that the 5080 can't even get close to the 4090 and has severe pcie issues along with some CPU overhead issues especially when using upscaling is enough to make any reasonable person not go anywhere near this historically garbage generation. It is the first time since the GTX 280 from 2007 that the 80 class card has not been able to surpass or atleast match the previous generation flagship at 3/4 to half the price this shows how absolutely abhorrent the situation is and all Nvidia has done this time is hide the fact that they don't have any truly newer generation hardware.
The 5070 can't even surpass but is slower than the last generation 4070Ti and the 5070Ti is also slower than the 4080. This entire series that has been announced till now is so bad that it makes the 40 series somehow look good. Nvidia price gouged the 40 series at launch especially the 4080 and then later dropped the prices and now they are leveraging those insanely garbage prices to make this series look good because for them it's all about optics now and nothing else. I just hope that people can look through Nvidia's shady and false marketing and advertising and just buy older generations at lower prices and used prices as a lot of the used cards still have at least 6 months to over 2 years of remaining warranties and some even have full 3 years. If people don't accept this trash premise of Nvidia they won't be able to sell and will be forced to lower the prices just like the last generation and maybe then they might have a product that is a little better in terms of value.

Nah they just make more money off datacenter and AI that's why they don't care about the consumer segment anymore. Record high stock prices make the shareholders happy.
Gamers are a small number of people with less purchasing power than the AI companies (NVIDIA made $47.5 billion revenue from datacenter compared to $10.4 billion from consumer)

I hope AMD really catches up, we need a Ryzen moment for GPUs real bad. FSR4 seemed shockingly good compared to their previous ones so I'm hoping they finally have a competitive product in every aspect. If they do, then I'm even more disappointed that they aren't launching it before nvidia.
I get that they're trying to get fsr in more games or figure out what price works but letting nvidia release the 5070 & 70TI when you have less than 20% market share means it won't matter, most will have bought an nvidia card already.

I am talking about the reasonable ones other than the Nvidia turbotards who btw recently saw their funds diminish after the Deepseek red scare.
Now that Deepseek basically exposed their shills and their stock price has dropped by over 15% there is some hope but somehow they always learn the wrong lesson. Gamers and mainstream consumer literally helped built Nvidia by trusting them this just seems like a betrayal.

It's just the stupidity of the people who try and defend Nvidia on this that makes me lose it sometimes but I truly do believe that no one should buy any of the cards announced in the series so far, except maybe the 5090 but that is already unattainable for most people.

5080 just has 16 GB of VRAM. That only leaves the 5090 for creators. Nvidia's tagline will change from "inspired by gamers, built by Nvidia" to "F**k gamers, courtesy Nvidia"
Yes I get it. Many pc enthusiast people in the community do understand the problem. But even they themselves fall for it because "upgrade" regardless of how beneficial it is. I'm more interested in knowing their line of work and how much they make lol.
People just cannot stop living on the bleeding edge of tech.
The sales team, marketing team and retailers etc all are aware of this. But for them their job is to make money for their company so regardless of their personal opinion they will not only endorse but amplify the attention. The sales people could take a stand against Nvidia/AMD and tell them to make better products but they will never do that. I think their roles or faults in this industry is really overlooked.
As for the bottom tier rich trash consumers they simply don't give a shit.
