News NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Is 2x Faster Than 4080 At $999, RTX 5070 Ti 2x Faster Than 4070 Ti At $769, RTX 5070 Faster Than 4090 For $549

I heard about this. Not a great look for Nvidia of course. I suppose people should have expected software issues for a software release.
They'll fix it eventually I imagine. A hotfix driver 572.24 has been released recently, solves some of the issues.
I hope board partners/Nvidia are replacing bricked units, no questions asked.

That could still be attributed to a poor design choice, and user error to an extent. But not this, straight up bricking the cards for installing the FIRST driver available to it.

So is it only a driver issue or driver + something else ? Is that known ? Either way I imagine they'll replace the cards and roll out fixes for the issue eventually.

Apparently, the educated guess is poor quality control of the PCB, itself. Once official drivers are installed, the card starts functioning in 3D mode, increasing power + strain vs 2D mode, when only the basic Windows display drivers are installed. This is just rumored.

Apparently even MD Computers are saying that price of RTX 5090 Rs.2,54,000 + 18% GST + 3% Transaction fee =Rs.3,08,711 while fb sellers are quoting Rs.3,50,000 to 3,65,000 depending on the model.

Apparently the OP in this reddit thread was saying that 2 days ago fb sellers were quoting Rs.3,95,000 but now decreased some 30-40k in 2 days and was telling others to wait more days for the price to fall.
Utsav Computers from Kolkata are quoting Rs.1,22,000 for RTX 5080.

No msrp model costs that much so they are probably charging that for a higher end model is it the astral?

That's still better considering on day one it was 1.4l. But still sh*t.

Also AIBs like Asus and MSI have started increasing their prices similar to how they did during the crypto boom and the 30 series. Asus has raised the price of the Astral model to $3409.

That 5080 price is before gst lol. This generation is cooked, only saving grace will be the founders edition, if we are even getting them at this point...

The existence of scalpers implies a demand for scalped products / pricing, people with deep pockets perfectly willing to pay a premium for an already expensive card.
And I would like to think only businesses can afford to spend on an RTX 5090, even once prices normalize.
