Brother you won the internet with a jump like that! Then 1050 for 5.5 years
Then 3080 ( big ass jump ).
I was using integrated graphicIn those years, i only had integrated gpus. Many great games ran ok.
1st dgpu i got was in a laptop in ~2012, played for a year. Finally played Crysis ~25fps !
Then temps sky rocketed, i cleaned and repasted. Did not know what thermal pads were ( guide did not say..), gpu went bust.

Most of the time, difference between high and ultra isn't much to be worth it.Hoping I would play games in ultra 4k soon
Can relate to this so much! Currently on a laptop 1660 Ti, was planning on upgrading to 5070 Ti but looks like that ain't happening. 9070 xt seems like the best bet so farIn those years, i only had integrated gpus. Many great games ran ok.

Yeah my laptop gives good performance when set to 60 fpsMost of the time, difference between high and ultra isn't much to be worth it.
So i prefer optimized settings + high refresh rates.
High frame rates makes a lot of diff visually as well, these days i prefer 80-90+ rather than ultra or RT etc. Even 60 feels sluggish in faster games.
