NVIDIA RTX 4070 To Be Discontinued In January, RTX 4060 & RTX 4060 Ti Going To Reach EOL In Q1 2025

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060/Ti and RTX 4070 may go out of stock in a couple of weeks as reports suggest the end of life for these GPUs is near.

Some of the NVIDIA RTX 40 GPUs are seeing some availability issues in various regions, including China, and these GPUs are expected to go out of stock in a couple of weeks. IT Home reports that the GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 GPUs are reportedly reaching the end of their lives and won't be available after Q1.

The RTX 4070 will be particularly scarce since it is expected to go out of stock after this month only. The AIBs are no longer going to get another stock after they get their final stocks this month. This means, when the RTX 4070 goes out of stock, users won't be able to buy this GPU, but the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti will still be available for a couple of more weeks.

As per the reports by the Chinese Board Channels, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPUs will enjoy fine availability till March, but since the RTX 4060 Ti is already scarce, it is going to go out of stock before the RTX 4060. Nonetheless, both models are going to be restocked in February one last time. If these reports are true, then these will be the first GPUs in the Ada lineup to hit their end of life.

We haven't heard about the higher-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPUs such as Super, Ti, and Ti Super editions. Once NVIDIA launches the RTX 5070 cards for official retail, the availability of RTX 4070 Super/Ti/Ti Super models could be affected as well. The RTX 4070 has already been replaced well by its Super edition due to a better price-to-performance ratio, and it's much easier to find the RTX 4070 Super than the non-Super edition.

This is probably why the non-Super version is going to disappear from the market. As for the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti, it's not clear why these GPUs are going to go out of stock, as these are the only budget segment cards from NVIDIA at the moment. NVIDIA hasn't announced the 60-class cards in the Blackwell lineup yet, but according to some reports, the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti will be launched in Q1, which could mean an easier transition from 4060 to 5060 cards.

PS: I was eagerly waiting to buy RTX4070 in Feb/Mar 25 but now it seems I need to increase my budget to get either RTX40XX Supers or RTX50XX.
