Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 stopped booting

Hi everyone! My 4-year-old Shield TV Pro has stopped booting up; it intermittently displays the Nvidia logo before going blank. I’ve tried all possible troubleshooting steps, including a factory reset, but nothing seems to work. My Shield TV is connected to a Marantz Cinema 50 receiver which is connected to a projector. On suggestions by Nvidia customer service, I connected it directly to the TV and attempted a factory reset using an external keyboard, but that was unsuccessful as well. I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

If you can source it, try to boot it with a known working Power supply. Sometime power brick can cause such boot issues due to inconsistent power current/voltage.

Yeah I can do that. Nobody suggested me to check the power supply. I have posted this issue in all tech forums I know of. I think I will first check the voltage and amperage using a multi meter. If the voltage is insufficient, then I will consider arranging alternative power supply.

Hey, I am been in the same boat last few years ago. My Shield TV 2015 stopped booting and I reached Nvidia support through chat. They asked for the invoice to verify the details and provided a free replacement power brick but can be shipped to US address alone. Hence I gave my friends and I got it from his cousin travelling to India.

The replacement solved my problem correctly. Try reaching Nvidia support through chat.

Checking the voltage without load might not give you the clear picture. Sometimes, the voltage sags only when load demands more current. The right way to check this when Shield TV booting you check the voltage. And to do it you might need to cut the cable or make a extension cable with the suitable connectors.
That's why I suggested to check with PSU your friends or a FM might have.

Thanks for the update. I am in touch with the support. They provided some troubleshooting but it didn't work. I even tried to flash the image to restore to factory settings. It is still not rebooting. My shield is not in e warranty period and hence they did not offer for

Thanks for sharing your experience. In my case, customer support suggested a few troubleshooting but nothing worked. They suggested resetting to factory settings by using an external wired keyboard, which did not work. I even tried to flash the restore image, but that too did not work. My Shield TV is not under warranty; hence, they did not offer any replacement.
Were you able to see the Nvidia Logo on switching on? was it trying to boot? Or there was no power at all? In my case it is going through Nvidia Logo is displayed intermittently and then blank screen.
I will anyway get the power brick checked.

Yes, that's true. I am from Darjeeling. Can I cut the power brick to connect a suitable 19V adapter and use the same connector? I will try to find one in the market.

Get a DMM, snipe the power connector.
Measure unloaded voltage, then try powering up the unit and see if voltage does not drop by more than 5-7%

If not, you likely have a hardware defect in the unit. If it does, you can just swap out the power brick with any same voltage/same or higher Amps adapter
