I have one. Used only once to copy some data. Bought locally for 1100 few months back. Would like to sell for 800+shipping.

It should work, provided the cable supports High speed data transfer. Some cable only charges and don't transfer data, some does both. You need data transfer cable.
If you skip, I would like to show interest in the enclosure.

Nope for full speed use 10gbps for nvme or 5gbps for Sata. Majority of the cost for these enclosure is bound to the cable so I would've suggest to buy new, cause these things cost half of the price. (For searching check terms like USB 3.1 gen2 cable)
I bought this for cheap when available-
Now this is available but costly-
