OCZ GameXStream 600w PSU on it's way ;)

My original plan was to get the Enermax Liberty 500W and this week considered the NeoHE 550, but today when I saw the OCZ600GSX for $130 shipped, I couldn't resist (it was $10 more than ELT500) and bought it :D



Highlights: 83% efficiency @ 230V + Active PFC + Quad rails @ 18A each + Overvoltage/Overcurrent/Short-Circuit protection... can't wait for it to arrive :)

More importantly, one more component knocked off my upgrade list, whew!
 
congrats buddy.... after u get it remember to do a review.... lets see how it compares to its bigger brother, my FSP FX700GLN :D
 
I won't be plugging this big boy in to my current rig... it's for my Core 2 Duo :D Also, you can't really compare output because both our systems can't possibly draw so much power... we'll have to wait for the complete upgrade to actually test these PSU's :)

You should have looked into it b4 buying it.

The 600W is Dual Rail 18A each.

Which is, pretty pathetic.

The 700W is Quad Rail 18A each.

Even check out the FSP Epilson 600W.. Its the OEM PSU of the GamerXtreme 600W, its totally unchanged.

in the image.......the side of the PSU shows 4 12v rails 18A each
 
yeah rio boy.... that's a nice PSU... congrats on your purchase... 18x4 for 12V is special... and the price was good.... I amend.. A GREAT BUY :)
 
Goldie, whatever they all said :D... plus I don't think epsilon is OEM for OCZGXS - I read about the speculation, but I guess it's still speculation out there.

Its the same FSP Epsilon FX700/600 rebadged. Infact most probably the 600W and 700W are exactly the same PSU with the 600W having a few lower rated caps and stuff.
 
Yeah, when I took a closer look at the specs/output for both, I found both were the same except the rated amperage on the FX600GLN's rails are 15A... but I guess that's still a misprint.
 
Quick update... my power supply arrived today along with some CDs and tshirts... customs duty was 2.5k and I couldn't shake it off :/ I'll take some pics and post when I get home tonight, but I won't be installing it in my current PC... it'll have to wait for Conroe :)
 
how does a power supply affect performance, as long as you have a good brand with enough power for the rig, all psus are the same.

Whether I use Antec SP500 or OCZ 700 watts, it is't going to make anything faster, so how does it matter and why do you need a review for?

Edit : Put those T-Shirts for sale on TE or something :lol:
 
Yeah, I expected customs to be 1-1.5k but it was a pretty large box with other stuff as well so turned out to be 2.5k (hurts). I paid $48 for priority shipping from the US, so about 5k total damages to bring all the stuff down.

And I won't sell those tshirts ever... noone on TE would appreciate them anyway because they're Slayer, Death and Cannibal Corpse tees ;)

where do u buy the stuff from Rio ? which website ? and do they accept credit cards issued by indian banks ?
