Laptops Old vaio laptop...

I have a 3-4yr old Vaio laptop (vgn fs515b), motherboard of the laptop is dead and battery life is also quite low. I was wondering what could I do with it knowing the fact that the mobo is not widely available and would cost me a hefty sum, is there any chance i could still sell it? I live in chandigarh btw..

Why don't yo contact Amarbir (Lynx-India)? He has good repairing facility. He may help you repairing the motherboard.

Else, come to Delhi and take the laptop to Nehru Place -and try to get it repaired.

i guess not worth reparing it!!my friends sony vaio conkoded of after 2.9 years luckily he had a 3 years extended warranty.The Mobo cost of his laptop was quaoted @38k!!(laptop was purchased @ 68K)where similar config laps of the day were priced @ less than 40K!!lucky for him his mobo was replaced free of cost!!sell the parts individually!!!guess you will recover more money. LCD, hard drive, Ram, keyboard, adapter etc. all are quite valuable and should help you recover some of the money!!!

I know him...I had given it to him first, he had my laptop for 2 months but couldn't repair it, quoted me some 10k for a new motherboard which is also not available and he would have to order it from some place..so I dont think it can be repaired now and Im not willing to spend 10k over it, anything around 5k for repairing costs is all that I can afford and which seems sensible.
