Dudes dont rush into conclusions....

Last time someone messed up posting Powercolor 4770 as AGP and all techsites rushed in with such news...

What can the 4730 be???

Gddr5 on the Rv 740 will make it equal to 4770..

Disabling shaders cant be done by board partners right???

I doubt this news is true...

But if it is...

Then ..... Nvidia is really getting its balls kicked... They better hurry the Gtx 300 or Reduce prices:ohyeah: :hap2:

ATI has been feeling immense pressure from nvidia i guess.. thats y they are launching 2 ATI cards for every Nvidia Card

(4670, 4730 for 9600GT) (4770, 4830 for 9800GT)

Dammit y cant ATI spend their cash on hd5XXX insted of introducing billion fillers in the mid-end card range!? :@

n Nvidia has been sleeping since their GTX 275 release.. Want to c GTX300 series soon :|

Wow another mainstream card. But I really can't understand why they are doing this. 4770 is about 25% faster than 4670.They should not have made 4750 or 4730 to fill out the gap in between 4670 and 4770.This does'nt makes sense to me.ATI should stop making these meaningless cards and better spend their time and money on HD 5XXX cards.

both d companies hav diff.. strategy to grab up as much market share as possbl which ultimately results in utter confusion for customers.......:S nvidia's rebranding names n ATI creating lots of little children outta single chip design....:ohyeah: they should focus on diff architechture design to not only counter nvidia but shud be more VFM to customers.........but i must say aftr reducing prices nvidia products r more desireable nw n ATI surely feeln d pressure.......HD4770 by d way is d only great move aftr HD48xx series........but frm NVIDIA side nthn yet rather dan slashing prices lol...

I personally think that ending this at HD 4750 was good enough, one more card? and this is gonne a a 4670 40nm clone me thinks.

If u see closely, its atleast 1.8x faster

6.5k

^^ No its not a 40nm clone of 4670. Its actually a 4830 Clone (55nm) but its memory interface is 128-bit GDDR5 instead of 256-bit GDDR3.

Hey guys. Dont be fooled. It is a morphed image of HD 4770 with changed font color. Check this original Picture:

So?

Powercolor uses same box art on many of its cards. So that does not mean it is fake.

And this is not exactly a secret or it shouldnt be a surprise to see this card hit retail in limited nos specially in US/EA region.

Ya this is a valid card all right...
This one is based on a reworked version of the rv770 that powered the 4830...
Ati obviously finds lots of left over rv770 gpu's and has reworked them to something called rv770se or something and slapped a Gddr5 on it and strangulated the card with a 128bit wide memory address..

Same strategy that Amd always does...
Mass produce something.. mess with the core, disable some parts and so... try to churn out some profit from the soon to be wasted Gpu s...

Anyway this wont even hold a candle to the 4770..

It will have lower performance than the 4770 thanks to the much messed up rv770 core(probably similar to the 4830 itself)... and will consume more power and will also be hotter and less overclocker friendly compared to the 4770...(ya baby its not 40nm right)

Sad.... Ati will have dismal sales for this card definitely. But some sales are better than no sales right???

Hey man,
Powercolor does use different box arts for diferent cards.
For example:
[MOD]Do not hotlink images from other websites. Use free image hosts.[/MOD]

I have earlier seen many fake Morphed images as this.

Fake or not, this thread is sure leeching a lot of bandwidth from their respective parent sites.

@teja92: Go by the rules please. You're not supposed to hotlink images from other sites. Use an image-host.

Again, you are missing 1 thing when you linked these box arts. They are different series.

4870 and 4850 had same box art.
2900 Pro and 2900XT had same box art.

This is again 47xx series, so its safe to assume it will have same box art.

This card was rumoured for a while and its there to replace 4830 which ATI was not able to push in the market.
