Saw it on sale here at TE by @Ankit Manchanda
I bought 980 pro 1 tb in past from him few weeks ago
Open boxed one, different case than new.

Get 2TB if you can. I kind of regret buying a 1TB SSD a few months back, I have 2x 1TB NVMe now, no more M.2 slots. For laptops check if something is blocking the space below SSD slot, I think usually this is a problem with 4TB NVMe only, but do double check.

I am considering an addon SSD at the moment and 990 pro 1 tb comes under budget (7000)
Thanks for inputs.

But as you mentioned no need for swaping SSDs for booting laptop as there wont be much performance gain
Get a Kingston KC3000 1tb for 6k, I have been using it's 2tb version and its been awesome so far, its a Upper-mid tier ssd for a really cheap price.
