Opera 11.10 Final Version Released

Opera 11.10 aka Barracuda has been released today. With the new, more flexible Speed Dial your favorite sites are better looking than ever. Speed Dial automatically uses website logos and lets Web developers make content tailored for speed dial. And in Opera 11.10 you can add as many sites to Speed Dial as you like.

Opera Barracuda features a fresh version of Opera's rendering engine: Presto 2.8.131 with support for WebP, CSS and gradient and a bunch of other enhancements. Opera's Turbo has gotten a boost as well and gives (even) faster loading times and better image quality.

Can anybody confirm if TURBO indeed works, even half as good as the video promises? THis will help FUP stricken users a lot.
yeah it works, but can't calculate the performance increase :(

Turbo is basically the same technology in the Opera Mini and it works amazingly well. Despite doing a lot of browsing and downloading on my phone, I barely touched 250mb overall usage.

In comparison, while using the stock IE mobile browser on my ex HTC Diamond the usage was in the 300mb+ range.

Turbo is nothing but a technology which compresses page contents which leads to faster browsing experience and less data consumption... The only downeffect is that website embedded images look a bit low quality images...

Installed. Loving the new speed dial. Always wanted this feature, because a lot of screen real estate was being wasted before in bigger resolution monitors, not anymore. :D

Been the case for long. They have been pioneers in this field, but have gone unnoticed from public view. Heck, lots of folks think this is a new entrant who has copied features like tabbed browsing, mouse gestures and stuff from other browsers. I have been a long time user, since the days there used to be ads in the browser and have been pretty impressed always

Turbo works perfectly well, greatly helping in slow connections AND when some sites are blocked by our ISPs (you know which ones :D). Note though that since these requests are essentially routed via Opera's servers, and are fetched compressed to our machine, this mode is not optimal for multimedia.

Opera is a good browser, the only downside is that recent versions has compatibility problem with yahoo and yahoo beta doesn't support it.

Oh is it? I do not use Yahoo! so didn't come across this. What issues does it have?

If you choose to login for two weeks, the password screen doesn't show up for re-login after the expiration of the period. You have to logout and login from main screen again.

I have downloaded this version and will update if this has the same problem or not.

Does opera have something similar to the ad block type add on which is available for firefox. Currently firefox is not working fine for me for now and hence i am using opera but those banner ads are bothering me and need to block them.
Anything for this ??

The two posts below give you both extremes, one is the master list, the other is a site wise preference. Both can be used in tandem

Alternately, right click the page, and choose block content. Then click on whatever it is that you want to block.
