I have a xbox 360... As of now I am using my monitor's headphone out to connect it to my Logitech Z5500:(

Need to know If I can use optical, Coaxial or any other cables to get a 5.1 output from my Z5500 for the Xbox to :huh:

Also need to know how this can be done

Microsoft just supplies a stereo cable that comes bundled with the component connectors with the xbox package

I dont own a Z5500 but do have an X360 which ive connected to my Onkyo HTiB using an optical cable. From the spec sheet, i see that your Z5500 has an optical in port at the back, so what u can do is, if ur using the HD component/ HD VGA cable for the X360, on its back there is a optical out port (behind the connector plug). U can connect an optical cable from there to ur Z5500 to get 5.1 surround. Gaming in 5.1 surround sound is true bliss. Try this and let me know. It shud work.

@ amigoatul ....Thanks a ton....I will try it and lt u know

I am using a HDMI cable to connect the xbox to my monitor... So now I would also need to connect the VGA/HD componect cable in the xbox and make the wiring more messy:'(...
Wish.... microsoft guys could of thought of a cleaner way to have optical and HDMi combo:)

btw: OFF topic :(I also have a coaxial input in the z5500 and a coaxial output option in my Zonar DX....
Is connecting thru coaxial gonna give me a better quality than using the normal RJ jacks (center, front and rear cables)

:@:@:@

The shitty xbox design is such that u can't F**king use both HDMI and HD/component cable together...

they are placed so close to each other that when the HD component cable is inserted...it practically blocks the HDMI cable slot:@:@:@

Shitty Microsoft xbox designers:(:(:(

Okay...found a way to do it.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FptCB_3DOz4

Boy...I should have got the elite:(....it was just 40$ more...

Okay Guys...Update:):) took apart the plastic covering of the component/HD cable....
its a very very tight fit now....but am able to put the HDMI and the component cable together... Although I had to put a cheaper 300 bucks HDMi cable (because the Monster HDMi was way thicker and occupied more real estate )..
All good now:)

Take a hike M$ buggers:bleh::bleh::bleh::bleh::bleh::rofl::rofl::rofl::ohyeah::ohyeah:
