Organize Medical prescriptions

Is anyone using any file organizer to preserve/store medical prescriptions/papers ?

I have 100+ prescriptions to deal with and many keep getting lost here and there, so looking for an organizer to store them and be handy for every member of my family.

Suggest something vfm ones where only these small papers can be be stored. )(Do not recommend any A4 sized stuff as already using them and its a sheer waste of space etc.)

Here we have a single family physician who takes care of almost all ailments.
Any specialist and their hospital folder is a different scene as hospitals now maintain online records so not much of a concern,

I just digitize them as they are mostly used for online orders after the initial doctor visits, with all the physical ones going into a folder date-wise.

I've just started working on a self-hosted solution for this. It's likely to take time (hoping I actually ever complete it).
I'm using FAST API for the backend and Vue.js for the front-end.

I have planned the following features:

1. Keep records as a family
2. Record all your consultations (problems, diagnosis, etc.)
3. Take a photo of the prescription and attach
4. List down medicines and tests which were prescribed
5. Attach test reports as and when you receive it
6. Come back and leave comments on effectiveness of the medicine

This is the initial plan and does not include any features related to hospitalization. If I actually manage to get this done, I'll plan further.

Anyone willing to work on this with me, please let me know. It is going to be FOSS.

I scan them with my scanner/printer and store them digitally in google photos or icloud based on importance.. We can also take pics from smartphone directly, but using scanner we can get lower file sizes and equally good clarity.

File size can be easily reduced using any free editor, like Krita or Hornil Stylepix. However, what we can't get is perfectly straight scans because paper gets folded and camera also adds a little bit of angle.

Camscanner used to do a very good job of making pages look like proper scans. I haven't checked if any alternatives have come up, since it was banned.

The printer's app does an easy job of straightening the page, reducing file size and also making text clearer. Hence I prefer this instead of taking pics by phone.

Yes, scanner is definitely preferred if you have one. I also prefer it when at my parents house because my dad has one. The quality, especially of colour scans, is far superior to phone photos. I was mainly saying this for people who don't have access to a scanner.

Don't count on the hospital keeping those records for long. I visited a hospital a few years after they took my records assuming that and turns out they got rid of my records and there was no trace of my earlier visit. Zero records.

May be some archival or purging policy but ideally medical records should be preserved by hospitals as one cant assume when the same patient might visit & how handy can his past history help..
