I use Hi5. Was never really interested in myspace mediums like these but since nearly all my friends use Hi5, i was forced into it.
 
a year ago, orkut was a class act... but now , orkut is just as just as choked with adolescent teenager nonsense as hi5 or myspace :|
 
Orkut has a clean and minimal interface compared to Hi5.

Hi5 seems to be more on the feature-heavy side with you being allowed to customize the background images, and these days even add a song/video to playback on your profile.

I guess ultimately it depends on the network most of your friends are on.

@greenhorn: The problem with all online social networks getting diluted is that people are more keen on having the largest possible friends list, largest number of testimonials/scraps, etc etc. I remember reading a funny forward saying such folks should probably stand at a traffic signal to meet many people :lol: .

On a serious note,
Hi5 sucks coz you cant send even messages properly.

I've found orkut VERY useful as i've found TONNES of old school-mates, made friends with people i knew but was never close with earlier..
its easier to keep in touch too..

Absolutely !! me too !! Orkut is really nice !!
 
even i found ORKUT ..a lot better...since i am able to keep in touch with all my old class mates....

but i ve noticed that many TE members account on orkut is inactive...
 
i feel you can actually get a chance to meet girls :D rather than other communities like Hi5 or craigslist etc etc .

reasons
1) real pics
2) scrap ( your friends scrap will give away what kind of person you are )
3) testimonials .

orkut rawks :p
 
hi5 sucks.. dont like the interface and i dont find many ppl there..
i dont like orkut much either.. coz it is full of jerks asking for "friandships"!! otherwise it is fine. You get to stay in touch with ur school mates!

and tht specially happens when u have a girly display pic! i have put up a pic of a skull now which brings me a total relief frm those "friandship" requests!!!;)
there was this guy who scrapped me "hey! can i hold pride to call myself as ur frnd".. FOOL! NO.. u may not!
