hello
i'd like to overclock my cpu to 3.6ghz or higher but before doing so i'd like to take our experts advice here in techenclave..so please suggest me anything important that has to be done as this will be my first overclocking..first of all here are my specs:

e8400 @ 3ghz processor
biostar tpower i45 mobo
WD 320gb blue series HDD
6GB RAM (1x2gb OCZ Platinum Kit) and 2x2gb Kingston value ram) @800mhz)
zotac 9800gt gpu
asus xonar dx audio card
cooler master elite 333 cabby
cooler master gemin II cpu cooler
VIP 500w SMPS / cooler master pro extreme 600w (which one will be better)currently using VIP 500w)

so will i need to alter the vcore settings and all for getting 3.6ghz?
what is the expected temperature for an e8400 @ 3.6ghz on idle and at load?
also in case i wanted to go above 3.6ghz will it be ok as i'm using this kingston value ram?
or is it worth going for 4ghz from 3.6ghz?is there any noticeable improvements?

your help is kindly appreciated :)

yes i will change it as soon i get some money..
but for the time being..i have the two mentioned PSUs..
coolermaster extreme is crap from what i've heard..
so using the VIP as of now..
thanks for reply..

sorry, but VIP is crappier than CM

You have a nice proccy and board, get a good PSU (VX450 or Seasonic ones in the same range) first, then plan to overclock
