well it was assemble by dealer by itself,so i think its not problem with unseated HSF
i don't know about ambient temps

Most of the assmebling guys in the shops take little or no care in assembling our valuable hardware.. There's no guarante that they've put it in the properway..

BTW what's the max load temps you are getting??

how can i measure it ?? whats that

Its the operating temperature of the proc under 100% load.. You can measure it using any monitoring s/w like realtemp while running the proc under max load by using any stress test software like OCCT or Orthos..

@vinaycm
What exactly you done to gain 3.8ghz ?
was it stable ?
which bios version u are on ?

i see GF 8400GS 512MB in your sign is it as good gfx card ? what games exactly u can play on it (not talking about the quality)
Can you play bluray and hd content on it ? (1080p)
Is there is any better gfx card ? does it offload the video processing from the cpu ? what cpu uasge u get while playing video 1080p?
sorry to ask so many questions

asking this because i will too buy E5200 + EG31 on monday so want to know abt it

only 95% is going

ur temps seems to b too high...
ppl get these temps on 3GHZ or even more...
Was facing the same prob b4 but now my chip is stable @3.3 GHz with temps max to 55-58 on stock cooler......
pm AMIEN u will really get sum help out there......

try to apply sum paste like tuniq TX-2 but iIMO paste comes into picture only if u OC it to sum higher level........

correct me if i m wrong..

no need to get an xtra cooler if u plan to OC till around 3.3GHZ-3.5GHZ.....

u can try to reput the fan........

Crossx, you most probably havn't mounted ur HS right or there is lack of proper air exhaust or some other issue.

Cuz even here there are similar temps, but for an E5200 at 3Ghz, 62*c load is high!
what vcore are u pushing?

I have applied some thermal paste and nicely fitted my HS and now I get max load temp of 60 and 53. I have my vcore set at 1.168 (as per CPU-Z).

I've increased the FSB to 331Mhz, lowered the multipier to 11.5X, changed the memory divider to 2.66, memory voltage to 2.0V & core voltage to 1.325V.. At these settings 3.8Ghz was achived & stable.. I've run stress tests & benchmarks & it was completly stable.. Iam running on th F8 bios.. I think there is a more recent beta available..

In my opinion, its not at all worth to buy a new GF 8400GS.. I've used it becoz i was bit tight on cash & this card was lying there as a spare.. I havent tried playing blueray or HD content on it.. So no idea of the performance & cpu usage.. If you are intending for media purposes, then i'd suggest that you shud go for a HD4350 or if you can sapre a little more then a HD4670.. Both can handle HD conent easily & the latter one can handle most of the games also with some eye candy at moderate resolutions..

As per the screenshot, you've run the stess test for jst 24 seconds!!!.. The load temps you are gettin is not the absolute highest temps.. I'd suggest you run the stress test for atleast an hour (with realtemp running) & take the max load temp as recorded by realtemp..

BTW the load temps you are getting are a bit over the top for a E5200 running at stock.. I was getting less than 50degrees at stock speed!!!
