Hi
Im planning to buy a new machine with E6300 or E6400 and planning to use intel DG965RY MB. Is it possible to overclock this MB atleast little??

I need a 965 based MB with onboard gfx so please let me know of oter alternative MB which can be overclocked and the price.

The P5LD2-VM, has onboard Graphics, and supports a bit of overclocking.

Look @ that board.

Its a better choice than the Intel Mobo's :|.

If i'm not mistaken, there should be something known as a "burn-in mode" in the BIOS. Not *exactly* sure if the DG965RY has the option, but this allows you to overclock the system by upto 30%, so should allow you to overclock your system a "little" :)

I have always been a fan of ASUS myself.
Just built my rig on the 775.
P5B Deluxe w/WiFi
Over clocking is a sinch.........
If you have the money I would suggest them. Also NewEgg is where I get most my parts.

my budget is max 7-8k for mobo. So as Crazy_Eddy said if its possible to overclock a little in the DG965RY i ll go for that.

The Gigabyte 965S3 will also be around the 9K mark. Don't go for the 965G because for some obscure reason its costlier (onboard graphics probably)

The onboard gfx of DG965RY... i.e. G965 just sucks big time... They have horrble drivers I hope.... But it overclocks ok.. I easily got 200Mhz (2 Ghz) out of my E6300 on this board on the stock intel cooler...and my idle temps are some 45-48C
