Overclocking Sempron 2200+

Haha, right on Masky :D

By the way, the mod is not at all risky as long as you're converting it to a Mobile Athlon XP, and can live with the maximum multiplier of 11.0x.
Its only when you try to further play with the L6 bridges to increase the maximum multiplier to a higher value that you run into problems (like me :D )

hmm....my barton has a multiplier of 11x...all bridges are closed :( i had thot of unlocking upto 12.5 multipliers......

Yes, all desktop parts have all L6 bridges closed by default. So every Athlon XP will have a max mobile multiplier of 11.0x

Why would you want to lower the FSB and increase the multiplier? Arent speed gains from the FSB much more noticeable than the multiplier? Unless your system is unstable at the higher FSB speeds, there's no need. Of course thats unless you want to push the system a bit more beyond XP 3200+ ratings?

i want to hit higher clocks
Why do you want to hit clocks? If you hit clocks how will you know the time??
Kidding :P

Well, doesnt your board go above 400Mhz FSB as well?

P.s: wasnt deejay sayin something about you shorting your board?

OK kind of a anti climax :( I couldn't find conductive paint... so i tried it with carbon ink.. didn't work. i.e Its detected as a sempron not m-athlon and i get a transition error in cpumsr.

One electronic shop guy suggested silver oxide for conductive paint what do you guys think?

As far as i know, Carbon ink acts as an insulator.

try IP, u get those as "PCB Cleaning Liquid" they're the best :D

hey...got any pics????

pencil..hmm..cover the 2 side bridges with some tape, fill the bridge hole woth the pencil lead powder, remove the 2 sidetapes, put a tape over the powder....thats it....

I think carbon ink comes off easily too. I had bot a small vial (for the same purpose as urs ;) )but that was a couple of years back. Then i found some copper-particles-in-solvent kinda stuff. It is used to connect the minute broken joints on the boards. When u apply this, the solvent evaporates leaving the copper behind, thus forming the link. It worked well on my t-bred A 1800+ back then. Only problem is, u give it a rub (on the applied part) and it comes off easily. So, i had to put scotch tape on it.

thanks for all the handholding guys... this is turning out to be more complex than i thought it'd be. cant take pics... i dont have camera here :( will pics from nokia 6600 do?
