By broken downloads i meant what if you download a 2GB rar file and found that it has CRC error in it , even with a recovery you need to download the part again, I'm already members at several warez forums and only reason i go there to get something which would never be able anywhere Ex:- I wanted Didi's Comedy Show which no had but one of the user uploaded it.In short I can easily say that.

Usenet > Torrents > FileHosting

Sometimes it is easier to find old content on Filehosts rather than Torernts , speed is the same throughout for filehosts but old torrents = less seeds = low speed [ Yes even private trackers have limitations , it took me 4 months to download a 38 GB torrent ] , 20kbps average , on SCC , the same would have taken a few days with any premium ]

But mostly , P2p better than filehosts

Having Premium Membership is almost a necessity for downloading from Filehosts , not the case for Private or Public Trackers

Seedbox is NOT a necessity , utilise FREELEECH , many private trackers are also Ratio Free just seed [ BTN ]

You should definitely keep using Public trackers , it really isn;t that bad , provided you are aware of what is proper content and what is fake.

P.S. - This , coming from a full fledged filehosts user . I use RealDebrid it is a link generator for multiple filehosts , good but it costs money :( Would have preferred public torrents even if i had the choice :(

even i dont have any premium account on the filehosts. :P

for latest updates i always get mediafire links so that is never a problem :)

regarding the premium link thing i have used premium link generator on many such filehosts and most of the time i got a premium link so even that was managed :P

P.S: i love torrents and i would like to seed but for the pathetic broadband in our country i cant do that :@

well guys if u wanna be a full pledge pirate the bittorrent is the only way, filehost and mediafire are crap and shit and very unreliable sources.

the uploader gets reward points as in hits or downloads done.

nowadays filehosts are encoded by url shortner which too pay the uploader so win win :)

How to track my seeding? i always do 1:1 seeding for whatever i download . How to track and show my seeding ratio for private trackers

Utorrent has a "Ratio" column

you can activate that :)

hey guys i don't wanna steal this thread or anything but i wanna know something urgently.i am currently on a 1mbps mtnl plan but i have already opted for the airtel 4mbps 30 GB FUP plan and it will be installed in 3-4 days.i read somewhere that airtel includes uploads in their limits so i became curious and tried limiting my upload speed to 1kbps in utorrent and found that by doing so my download was also getting limited at the same rate. so i searched on google and found out that some clients put a limit on their upload speeds in which if we go under them the download is also locked according to a ratio, but i can't afford this guys.i am not as leecher as i always seed every one of my downloads.but now i want to limit my upload speed so that my connection can be maximised.i have already tried 3rd party apps like netlimiter in which if i limit the uploads ,the downloads still get affected,or am i doing something wrong?does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I format my system frequently is there a online solution like syncing.

make a backup of the uTorrent Appdata folder before formatting

and restore it after re-install

that folder stores all the valuable information like Ratio achieved, total uploaded etc.

@sudanshu
Why are you shifting away from MTNL it just doesn't make sense.

IMO,

You should stay with MTNL and get the 1333 pack, u'il get 1mbps at day and 2 at night plus 2 at weekends and 512k upp 24x7. Good speeds. consistent, no issues with potts, etc.

Now i am staff somewhere, will not name tracker but lemme tell u this, if u cap ur upload to 1k, the tracker can or staff on that tracker can flag u as cheat or hit and runner coz ur upload or seeding on that file will not register. Secondly, u stand to loose ur account there and get banned.

Best practice, use a better connection and utorrent ver 2.0.4. Widely accepted by almost all trackers.

I do not know whether the trackers can see the limits that we impose, but this much is sure, you need to limit the upload to 90% max of your maximum upload speed. Else you get lower download speeds too, I have seen this myself. Having a max upload of 25kbps, i limit mine to 20~21 usually. Have not faced any problems.

Also if you lower your ul speeds then the dl speeds get lowered not due to trackers, but due to the very nature of the bt protocol itself. w8 for sometime, it should increase, but only if there are more seeders than leechers.

firstly, yes trackers have a way of knowing what ur speeds are, so in general if u cap ur upload to 1k, staff knows the u seeding back at 1k. Secondly, i have never had the need to cap my uploads on mtnl, speeds are so fantastic i have always got maximum of both d/l and u/l, currently on the 1333 plan so at day times i get about 120k d/l and 51k u/l and at night when its 2mbps i get 250k d/l and 45 to 50k u/l, nothing wrong and there is a way of capping speeds if u want. In utorrent, donot cap the speeds by specifying it in the speed limiter of utorrent but by right clicking a particular torrent clicking on properties and specifying the speeds there, that manages the speed much better and trust me when i say this staff can see what speeds u seeding at, why i know coz i staff somewhere, won't name the tracker but all i say is for ur good.

I'll have to check this out. I am not so sure not this one, mostly since I just checked out the BT protocol, and there is nothing to suggest that the tracker can retrieve info regarding capping your upload speeds. Will have a talk with this dude, and let ya know.

i am simply advising u as i am staff, remember the tracker from where u downloading get all the stats about the torrent u downloading so better dont mess up or u might end up getting banned.

What all does a p2p client (bittorrent/utorrent) report to the tracker..?

it reports ur ip which is already known to the tracker, the time taken to download the file and at what speeds, no of seeds and peer connected to the torrent, the time seeded and the speed at which u have seeded the file.

This info is sent to the tracker every time the tracker updates. If u have a close look in Utorrent, under the tracker tab, it shows u the tracker with ur passkey and a time in which it will update. Upon update all these stats are sent to the tracker and staff are well equiped to judge weather u cheating or a genuine users.
