p990i keyboard failing

The centre button has gone, the upper left and centre d-pad key is not working, 1 2 and 3 keys on the FC keyboard are bust.
Is this a known issue? Easily repairable? ROugh cost?
 
i have a p990i for the last 8 months , i am hearing this problem for the first time,
i feel better to buy a new keypad which is detachable as repairing does not make sense .
a new keypad will cost you rs 2500-3000.
 
Can't comment as i am using the phone without the flip, but still i feel flip quality isn't so much bad unless you have very high or rough usage.
 
I suspect that very rough usage there TH, my phone's now 7 months old, not a single issue whatsoever.

Infact its a pretty sturdily built phone.

As Kunal suggested, I'd suggested you go in for a replacement flip.

Techhead, why not remove the flip in the first place? :P I removed it within the very first few days of owning it as i knew tht moving parts like most flips tend to develop snags overtime...besides, it works like a charm without it...no moving/flipping part and hence less hassles just like a candybar..;) I've got so used to the inside keypad tht i dont feel like putting back the flip ever again..:lol:

I'm checking this section after a long time, or else i cud have given it to u for less as it is of no use to me..:P
 
My P910i is in the same condition now, the front keypad does not work properly. I have been using it like that for the last 8 months or so. The 5 way wheel on the side is enough to get the usual phone call routine done.
 
^I'm more used to the FC mode, as inadvertent screen presses happen quite often in FO mode.. personal choice, I suppose :)
 
Im having exactly the same prob with my K750i keypad....left soft key, joystick up and right and 1,2,3 keys not working....is this an issue wid all SE handsets? Any ideas bout how much it will cost to repair??
 
no cost to repair f under warranty. Just goto the nearest SE service senter n ask them to clean the keypad once. It definitely works for the k750.

Even if not under warranty, they ll charge u some small amount n do the job ;)

same might apply for the 990 too :)
