..Caller id not working in india....i know its fsk and dtmf issue...i have a fintel "adsl splitter".....but still its not working...anyone with solutions..

You expect the splitter to work as a converter ? I dont think that is the solution.

You could try a converter and check

Btw, was the charger only 110 V compatible ? If yes, how much did the step-up adapter charger cost you ?

US and European telecom standards are different - India follows the european standards - and it would help if there was a model number.

no bro...initially i thought the same....myself am a telecom engineer...with couple of backlogs yet to clear...:( ...had rough idea abt this signalling methods..but i had browsed through this page..many users of cordless phones there..

the converter was purchased 2 years back..it cost me around 180rs....u may get it cheaper..brand is maxconn..50watts..

Model of panasonic Phone is ..KX-TG6053S

i have the same phone.. doesnt work on my thing currenty..
i guess its mtnl's fault..
they havent activated yet

its by default on.....all it needs is a compatible phone with caller id.u.s uses fsk and india uses dtmf.....so u need a converter...going by many forums on net...a converter fintel "adsl splitter" does the job...

afaik a adsl splitter is to split a dsl connection an a phone line.. an nuthin to do wit dtmf conversion.

i may be wrong though cause my knowledge in this field is almost equal to zero..;)

ok i have the same pana phone from usa.. the format there is bellcore fsk.. and the format in india is dtmf.. just get a fintel fsk to dtmf converter.. 300 rs...

excellent product EX220 is available in ebay.in which is filled with full features including date time & caller id and works great!!! search ex220 in ebay.in best luck!!

ex220 is by artech. The person is asking for 600Rs as shipping cost.

will local vendors have it available.

I tried fintel adsl splitter and also ex220 with my US Uniden phone but it does not work when u have broadband. If broadband data cable is disconnected, caller ID starts working.

sorry, for such a big bump lol, but I have a similar query. I have this cordless phone, Panasonic 2.8 GHz, KX-TG2238S, and it has this talking caller id/caller iq and what not features. I have this Caller ID converter, FSK to DTMF, which works on my other panasonic phone, but in this phone the problem is very WEIRD:

There is a setting for LINE MODE, with two options A and B. The default setting is B, and is recommended by panasonic. Now, I do not get any CLI when it is set to B. When I set it to A, I get CLI but only ONCE! what I mean, after i changed the setting from B to A and saved it, I will get CLI properly for the next call, but after than I won't get any CLI. Again I have change to mode B, then to A and save and CLI works Again for only ONCE! lol

What to do guys?

Please help.

Converter is perfectly fine, as it works perfectly on another phone. It is Panasonic already mentioned in the first post. Here is a photo:

even without changing any setting, what I am observing is that, 1 out of 5-6 times CLI works.... lol it's random....
