Now that the highly rated- Pana LZ8 has disappeared from view-I can see LZ10 Lumix available at places- reviews generally are good- is any one using this in real life- inputs will be welcome-but urgently plz- have to buy a digicam by day after tomorrow-would this be good deal at about 6.5k?.

Of course Yaar...
Buy dat 1...
Am using lz8...
greatest digicam with manual features...
Canon getlost...
Or just study something at the panasonic workshop
heheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :P

Any doubts regarding that cam, ask me kie... :)

Took the plunge yesterday- purchased from eBay with 10% off coupon for 6050 shipped. Just wondering whether it will allow me to use a micro SD card with a SD adapter- does any one have any knowledge in this field ? inputs please.!!

Of course it will allow you to use your microsd card with SD adapter. I use 8GB sandisk SDHC on my device. But the video takes a lot of space. That is an issue.

Hi

I also checked up the LZ10 specs and it's great digicam to have. And to have at 6050+10% it's fantastic! However, when I contacted Panasonic Brandshop, the guy quoted me price of 15990/- :(

Plz tell how u get it for such a low price? Is the deal still on at eBay?

Got my Panasonic LZ10 today-in Panasonic Original Packing with all cables and software CD,s & a 3 year Panasonic Warranty card. The LCD on this has got to be seen to be believed. My fourth Digicam- and looks like a really fine bargain for the price real quality and VFM.

Congrats! Do post some pics if you can. It does seem like a nice deal, i bought an LZ8 myself sometime back. The only gripe i have is the auto mode dosent detect the scenes properly at times and focus while zooming can be a bit off at times. Also i had thought that rechargeable AA batteries would be more convenient but the flash recycle times even with NiMH batteries is a pain :( My next cam is probably gonna be with a Lion battery

That one rocks. But my auto scene detection is working fine. If you have got the warranty card, better contact panasonic. May be that is a damaged one. And yes, Lz8 takes 3-5 seconds to reload flash. That is nasty. :(

Usually it detects, but sometimes it dose'nt. Not really a major problem. The biggest one is indeed the flash, as u said its nasty :(

Thats too high, MRP itself is 9k :P It was going for 5.5-6k but i think its going out of production now.

LZ10 at 6.5k is a good deal right now

Hi

Purchased my LZ10 few days back with all accessories and Panasonic 3 yr warranty @6950 :) Taken many pics and HD videos are fantastic. Must say amazing digicam, highly adv tech, terrific vfm.

Thanks to all, and esp to vijayshimla, vishnuhost... :hap2:

Hi

You're abs right. Most of the chargers sold with NiMH batteries use very low current - 180 to 220 mA for AA size which take more than 14-22 hours to recharge.

Since I use NiMH batts quite a lot; I have purchased Nippo Powerstation [Model No.BC-0907] which is a very fast charger and can charge any NiMH in an hour! It uses 2200 mA for AA size and 800 mA for AAA size. I use three pairs of 2800 mAh Fujicell NiMH batteries and I am done recharging in just about one hour. Using this Nippo charger from Dec'08. Great gadget, economical in the long run. Always have two pairs of cells to spare within hours, no worry :)

^^Not talking about battery recharge time saar, meant flash recycle time, ie time it takes to recharge the flash after taking a shot. AA/Nimh powered cameras are notorious for this(except those which use 4 cells) and its very frustrating. Will prob go for a Li-on battery powered camera in the future

The issue with the li-on ones are that after 2 years or so that battery pack is no longer available, specially with cannon...I have a 4-5 year old cannon powershot, which still gives me really good results, but I had to go get a chinese battery to keep it going....

^^Yea that is a problem, plus the cost of a spare battery is also expensive. Dont think they sell for less than 1.5-2k or more even.

My 5 year old Panasonic FX1's battery is stil going strong though, its charge is now only about 50-60% of the original but it still works

Thats why I plan to get this camera now. I need one with a good macro mode and good low light performance. From what I have seen and heard, this one and the cannon 100is seem to be good but this seems more pocketable.
