panasonic nv-gs35 not switching on..help

friends my nv-gs35 minidv camcorder is not at all switching on

i tried the battery with full charge..no response

also same with ac adapter

then thought that may be prob with display..

if there is battery or direct power ..on opening the minidv lid it automatically pushes up the minidv even if the camera is switched off

now that is also not happening

i guess power is not being supplied to the inside board/sensor

and i used it even 10 days back

warranty is over... i hope i can get it serviced at non panasonic store as well
but i am apprehensive as one of my friend had bad luck of getting the sensor of digicam changed at such a shop

but will panasonic give service even after 1 yr?

and i am new to chennai so don't even know the panasonic service center here

should i go to ritchie street?...

any help from chennai people will be greatly appreciated.
