Ok I was thinking about it since ages... don't know why?? But if those buggers didn't partitioned India in 1947.....how would it be?
How would it change today?

Pour in your thoughts...

for starting

Best Cricket team in the world...Sachin and Shoaib Akhtar playing for the same side!!:hap2:

best army of geeks!!

No Offense intended at all!!!!

^Worst bunch of Islamic terrorists running around, maligning India.

No thanks.. we're better off with that surgical incision of the fanatics.

Although I wish those damn Brits had taken their time, and not run off so quickly.. would have prevented a whole lot of bloodshed.

i guess we would had seen more fights with china.......its better we have a bit weak opponent than china as being dominating.....

on good side.....much better import export with russia much better co-ordination with middle east and easier fuel transport(remembered indo-iran pipeline and all)...regarding sachin shoaib in same team...i dont like all stars in one team their is always clash of egos......see wht beckham had in real.....

Vote Bank politics would have been at its worst... Political scenario would have been f***ed up...
On the positive side, J & K would have been world's favorite honeymoon spot, including mine.. :p

Ahh, there would be HUGE riots. Theres is a feeling of being worse off among Muslims here, they feel they are the rightful owners of the sub-continent because of the mughals. Once you let in 180 million more of them, theres going to be hell to pay.

We're better off separate.

I'll second this...

We are better the way we are now....But it would had been BEST if those prics would had laid their butts in India for some longer time.

for eg. Look at Hong Kong, and Singapore... they got free from the clutches of britishers some 10 odd years later than what India did... But look at their development... Surely they are developed country while India still is developing

I dont know abt the terrorists....

There are lots of Muslim countries where terrorism isnt a problem. For India it's a problem because Pakistanis always felt like India was the enemy. So, they targetted India. If we were one country, they may not have felt this way.

Another very crucial point in this hypothesis is that Jinnah should have died during childbirth or never been born at all. He and his Muslim league MADE Muslims feel they were unwanted in India when it was untrue.

For all you know, we may not have had this divide between the two religions if not for that ******. The 1857 revolt showed Hindus and Muslims could work together.

Our economy would have been in better shape. No distractions in the form of HUGE budgets for the military and constant wars, etc...

Population my friend. That's the key.

No way India would have been developed. We will never be a developed country. Unless some great disaster wipes out 3/4th of the population of our country.

I dont think there would be much of any difference. We are pretty good at hating each other anyways, what difference would it have made having few more states??

the only difference would have been a reduction in the sh** news items. Pak would have been another 2-3 states and thats it.

The size of hong kong and singapore is ______, the size of india is _____.
We will never be a developed country. Unless some great disaster wipes out 3/4th of the population of our country.

Never say never. :)

Hes right...by the time we actually become developed as per today's standards, the definition of developed would have changed.

Partition guranteed a hindu leader in India & her counterpart in Pakistan and thats possibly a good thing if you consider given all the shit we have that we are *still* ahead of pak and I say that in the loosest way possible.

I never did understand why. Surely being less hetergeneous must have been an advantage from the get go for Pak.

Jinnah said or at least i got this from a discovery program that there was to be a divorce before the marriage.

Asking whether we would have been better off is a difficult question to answer.

I don't think we would have been worse off, pak as others have said would just be another collection of states.

I don't think re-unification would be wise anytime in the future, its too far gone now that the headaches of integration would outweigh the benefits, not to mention make an absolute mockery of reasons for partition in the first place.
