Passport ECR query

I want to apply for a fresh passport.From the Passport Seva website I could figure out that if someone has graduated and has a professional degree like engineering ,he is ECR but students who have not yet graduated is ECNR.I am currently pursuing engineering degree.I am eligible for ECNR.If I get a passport now ,do I have to re-issue the passport after I graduate in a few years because I will be ECR or they will just stamp
ECR on my existing ECNR passport and I would not have to re-issue again??Should I just say I am graduate and get ECR passport anyways now??
 
ECR is Emigration Check .. so if you proof of citizenship I dont think ECR applies to you ..
 
ECR is required to citizens who have not successfully completed standard 10.
Since you have you belong to the ECNR category. Just submit either 10th or 12th marksheet to the passport office while registering.
 
IIRC ECNR requires a graduate degree.

If you had ECNR on your previous passport, the new passport automatically gets ECNR.
 
It is weird. Emigration Check NOT required. The terminology sounds like an oxymoron. ha ha. I think the form has it: ECNR : Yes/NO.
 
I read in some newspaper that with the help of CDAC the passport application process is gonna be shortened to one week including the police verification...
Is that true..

appointment starts at 7.30 best to login at 7.15 .. 7.30 dot click on get appointment ... u will get it trust me i did that n now my passport is here :D .. hint given by travel agent n it worked :D
 
criteria is now having a 12th pass marksheet, carry it and you should be fine.
 
My rental Agreement(on stamped paper) as address proof is declined. I dont have any other address proof for my current address. Too bad, I think I have to go to my hometown to apply.
