I bought the VPCEB16FG off ebay and received the laptop in perfect condition on last Friday. Spent the weekend and transferring the data (All official data - laptop meant to be used as work/home laptop) and yesterday night, the adaptor stopped working.
Logged a complaint this morning, sony support advised me to deposit the laptop + adaptor at the nearest service center.
Reached the service center at Sushant Lok, Gurgaon, they asked for a warranty card! I told them to check the warranty status from the serial number. The rep stated that they will submit the adaptor and it will be replaced. I asked them to expedite as it is my work laptop; also requested to provide with a standby adaptor. They didn't had any adaptor in stock.
To my surprise I received a call from the rep stating that my laptop's detail aren't registered/available on the intranet and I must send them a scanned copy of the bill.
Scanned the bill, mailed it, again got a call stating since it is a new model, the adaptor replacement will take at least 5 working days!!!
Can you imagine the status of sony support?
I work in a MNC where IT backup is though online UPS. There is no fluctuations or surges, and you spend almost 50k and your laptop's adaptor goes bust on day 3, leaving you standstill, what do you do?
Please help/advise brothers. I've apprised the situation and expresses my resentment to the vendor. He has assured to help me out tomorrow morning, but I am really angry and discontented over Sony's pathetic support.
