Patient management software for a doctor

My friend who is doctor is looking for a good software which can maintain the record for all patients like patient name, case history, address, prescription etc...

Please recommend some free/paid software which he can use for this purpose. Currently he is using Excel to maintain his data.
 
Many years back (at least 8 - 10 years) I installed Lotus Organiser on my Dentists computer and he has used this for his patient records ever since - my dentist is Computer Illiterate even after using a computer for around 10 years, and yet he has no problems using this software :ohyeah:

being a doctor i can be of help to you.

i have found putting data electronically more time consuming than manual prescription writing. its tedious too if you are not computer savvy then it screws the matter more.

now coming to the point.

there are many free versions on the sourceforge website but not worthy.

you have to call local vendor or developer for a demo and select.

generally the softwares which are paid are in range of 6-20k depending upon speciality / facilities / modules.

CPMS by indegene softwares is a good one.
VIsual Software Solutions also makes nice softwares.

there was one company which had nice software called CCPL but for a long time i havent heard of them.

will update with more details, but i will have dig for it.
 
The way I see it that if excel is working for him then its good enough. Such types of records can be easily maintained using excel unless you want some complex GUI, security, relations etc. At most knowledge of formulas will be required.
 
my dad is a dentist and i was looking for same
req practice managment but mor imp visual aids

saral visualites was recomonded by few but would like to know if there there are any free visual tools for doc's available online
 
Writing a simple 2-3 forms custom GUI software doesnt take more than a few hours these days... Why dont u write one exactly for his need!!??
