You can use any visa/mastercard either debit or credit for paypal.

^^I dont have an account with ICICI bank,
Anyway: Kotak people kept calling me regarding their savings account and i told the kotak representative to come home at 8PM with all the forms, I happened to call him in between to ask what documents i require, and he told me to keep my passport, drivers license and photos, and a check for 10grands, I asked him why 10grands and he says that's the minimum balance required, I told him i want a frill-free zero balance account, He was like "Ohh-Okayish" and he promised to call back after 10 mins which he never did, Those cheap kotak people work for commissions
P.S- I was wondering what kind of bank is this for a representative to come all the way to my home with the forms for a zero balance a/c, before i realized it was for a premium savings a/c

I have got myself verified thru paypal using a credit card. I think i had to wait till I CC recd statement.. it has a number mentioned in the transaction..

you can open a b2 account, its completely free no charges and zero balance. the rep would come to your home to complete all formalities. you just have to apply online.

we both have same problem..... i also thought of having acct with hdfc but 10K initial amount is wat bothering me...finally i decided to open an acct with SBI....but after all above discussion(problem related to paypal) i m dropping my idea and goin with ICICI (worst service w.r.t above two)....so shd i go with ICICI / SBI ?
or look for some other banks ?

You cannot link your SBI debit card with paypal, Instead try looking for a zero balance ICICI a/c. I haven't tried the b2 a/c yet.

The VCC creation is through a different interface which is different from the Netbanking. You need to login separately for that.
The first ATM card I got was a normal HDFC card with no VISA or MasterCard logo. It can be used only in HDFC ATMs.
Later I had to apply for a Visa Debit card using which I was able to register for Netsafe and create the VCC.

I visited an HDFC bank and he asked me if i'm a student, and like a fool i said yes and he said students cant get the no-frills account,:ashamed: Will he agree if i say i finished my bachelor degree and i'm not studying anymore?

I didnt have any prob opening the account, and I told the guy that I was a student. Anyway I gave the necessary documents and I instantly got the Account Opening Kit which included the Cheque Book, ATM Card and all the details.

^^ I ment paypal verification buddy, Were you able to add your debit card to paypal? And also do u get instant SMSes when you shop/swipe/withdraw through an ATM?
