PC backup.

I am using Win7 ultimate and I have tried its backup software which is inbuilt but when I tried to make an image of my Win7 partition on another partition which is a seperate HDD attached to my PC, I was amazed that it was not able to find it.

Then after much trying I was still not able to do that. Then I installed seagate disk wizard which created the image of Win7 on the seperate HDD. But now I am not aware if this image will be read by Windows at the time of crash.
