Hey
I am planning to upgrade my workstation to its desktop and currently using a Razer laptop.

I am looking for suggestions for pc build

My Usage:
  • Programming.
  • Gaming, when gpu prices come down
Setup config
  • Intel i9 12900k
  • Asus Z690 mini its DDR5
  • Adata ddr5 16 GB
  • Cooler master N200p or NZXT h220i
  • 650 watt cooler master
  • 240mm AIO
  • Samsung 980 pro 500GB
Down the line, will add gpu and more ram.

  • Can I go with 12th gen or wait for AMD next zen?
  • Drr5 is worth it? I don’t want to upgrade the motherboard for 3 years
  • Is the above setup relevant for the next 3 years?
  • Does 650watt PSU is enough to run the setup without GPU?
  • Need suggestion for cabinet, PSU, and AIO from my other brands

1. Both 12900k or next AMD generation will be sufficient.
2. DDR5 isn't worth over DDR 4.
3. Yes
4. An overclocked 3090 can pull 400W. 12900k stock can pull 200 W. So it would just be on the limit with 650 W but should do.

is 750watt sufficient to run rtx 3070, i9 12900k with no overclocking
Easily sufficient. Sometimes the benefit of larger power supply is that the fans on the PSU won't turn on until half power usage of PSU's rated power. Too large of a power supply may cause high starting inrush current. In my case, Corsair RM1000x trips the circuit breaker of my room when starting up with high inrush current of 50 ampere. So I have to start it on the UPS and then switch on the main power to UPS.

Edit: I am probably wrong on the higher inrush current for larger power supply.

Get a DDR4 Mobo+RAM
Most of the SMPS has best efficiency at 40-70% load... I would suggest this being a one time purchase you can get 850W-1000W SMPS
