Storage Solutions PC CD ROM/Writer question

I have a PC running Windows XP Home Edition

It dosen't have a CD ROM drive.

I have an external CD Writer.

Can I connect the external CD writer to the PC and use
it as a CD ROM drive to install software from a CD?

How do i do this? Can you please outline the proceedure?
2) When I conncect the external CD writer, don't
I need to install some driver or something so the PC can recognize it? How will I install the driver when there's no CD ROM drive?

just connect ur external drive to the PC lyk u connect a pen drive ...

it will work f9 ...

install nero or alchohol to burn cd/dvd
