Hello Every one.

I am planning to buy a mid range pc, for low-mid range gaming and more of downloading, internet surfing & photoshopping. My budget is approx 15-20K (Not including monitor, keyboard, mouse).

After lots of searching i narrowed down to following config

Processor: Core 2 Duo 3.33 GHz E8600 (6MB L2 cache 1333MHz)
RAM: Corsair 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) 800 MHz DDR 2
Hard Disk: Seagate 500 GB Sata 2
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli
SMPS: ??? Is it Needed?
Cooling: ??? Is it Needed?
GPU: Not Needed.
DVD Drive: Sony DVD Writer 20x

But i am not able to narrow down to the motherboard. I prefer to buy gigabyte motherboard. But i am confused as to which one should i take. I want the mother board to have following things

1. Support DDR2 and DDR3 (DDR3 is very expensive now, so i will stay with DDR2, but later will move to DDR3 when it is cheap).
2. I don't need overclocking if i can get better performance on a normal Mobo.
3. Should support till at least Intel Quad Core for future upgrades (i will upgrade to better one when i have more money :) ).

I checked the gigabyte site and i think following chipsets will be in my budget

Intel® P35 Express Chipset
Intel® G45 Express Chipset
Intel® G43 Express Chipset
Intel® G33 Express Chipset

Please suggest me which mobo should i go for? Or can any one suggest me any better options?

Get 4 GB RAM, E8400, Seagate 500GB, PSU is needed, cooler comes with CPU. You need graphics card if you want mid gaming.

The CPU you selected is over 10000. Seagate- over 3000. Motherboard - over 5000. I can't see how you can do it in 15-20k.

I can downgrade the CPU to Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz E7300 - (3MB L2 cache 2.66Ghz 1066MHz) for the time being. But still which Mobo should i get?

If you are ok with AMD then

Processor: Phenom II X3 720 BE - 8k
Mobo: Biostar 790GX 5.2k
RAM: Corsair 2 GB 800 MHz 1.3k
Hard Disk: Seagate 500 GB Sata 2 - 3k
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli - 1k
SMPS: Vip silver 500W
Cooling: Not needed
GPU: Not Needed.
DVD Drive: Sony DVD Writer 20x -1k

Man you need to make up your mind. What kind of gamming are u interested in and what monitor do you have to support this config.
With onboard graphics (specially intel) you cannot enjoy your gamming.

i think Core 2 Duo 3.33 GHz E8600 (6MB L2 cache 1333MHz) too costly.

if you want mid range gaming i think you need have Core2Duo E7400 / 2.8 GHz 1066MHz,3 MB,LGA,45n.

and buy a good graphic card with the money saved.

9600gt will work fine.

I am more intrested to play Simcity 4 and Simcity Societies. Sometimes i may pla Age Of Empires. These games are not of a memory hog as are NFS and others.

I already have an 19" LCD so i dont need a monitor :)

Biostar is a good mobo and its very much stable in overclocking. And if you are lucky you could unlock a working 4th core in x3 720BE using Biostar mobo. So quad core Rig :ohyeah: . I strongly suggest you go AMD, because at your price, performance wise AMD rig will beat Intel rig in and out, and it will lasts around 3 years.
