I have this strange issue after I cleaned my PC with a blower.

The processor heats up to about 60 C and the PC shuts down after a few minutes, lasts even an hour, if I am not gaming.

I checked the thermal paste, reapplied a new layer.

Checked the RAM sticks with Memtest 86+, no errors found.

Checked my motherboard with another processor, works fine.

PSU, is well a brand new Corsair TX 750, checked it too, no issues with it.

Warranty for the processor (AMD Athlon X2 5600+) is till June 10.

Should I give the processor for RMA ?

Config:
AMD Athlon X2 5600+
Asus M2A VM HDMI
Sapphire Radeon HD4890 Vapor X
Corsair TX 750
RAM: Kingston 3 GB

1)check the heatsink that it is properly seated on the board from all the sides..
2)check the bios for settings@shutdown temprature for CPU etc..:hap5:

1. Heatsink is set firmly on the processor.

2. My BIOS doesn't have those settings.

I have never faced an overheating issue before. Its just all of a sudden !

Checked the processor on a friend's PC, ran fine, until he started a game.

^sound advice. Check the pattern of temp rise in bios. . . .Rapid increase should mean that

Check temps on Video card , that seems to be the only thing you could have overseen.

edit- oooops just noticed that you have confirmed it to be a processor problem.
