CPU/Mobo PC Doesnt Boot up at Home, Boots up at Dealer's Place !

Check if the cases power and reset switches wires are connected to the correct pins on the mother board.
 
RE: blueyesdude --- yes eazy, most probably the case power or reset switch is shorted in the always "ON" position. one of the many possibilities.....

Once when I assembled my computer the system would not come on - tried everyting I could think off - after some time I realised that the darned Reset button on the VIP full tower case was bad and was staying depressed in the always "ON" position. That STOOPID reset button never worked properly. :mad:
 
remove the cmos battery. after around more than 5 min's, then put it back in and try to boot. it could work, i'm just guessing.
 
I had a similar kind of problem, but with my motor bike. I had parked it in the college. After the class when I wanted to go home, that bike wouldnt start. I tried for half an hour but without success. Then I went with my friend and got a mechanic. He just tried once and that bike started as if nothing had happened to it. Some times things do act up.
 
Crazy,

Ask your friend to check his/her system in neghbour house and if he get same problem than, how if you try to put another seprate Power Board for PC conection.

Keep it seprate from other all switches, use another seprate Dippy From Main Power Supply and see.
 
Thanks for the info, but it turned out to be some kind of motherboard problem - my friend has given the board for repair/replacement.

Its rather strange that the board booted up fine at the dealer's place inspite of having some trouble! Nonetheless, that remains another mystery ;)
