41-50k PC for Gaming.

Hello everyone,
I have seen similar threads but the reason I am posting this as I cannot find thread for only gaming pc,
I want this pc purely for gaming as I don't do editing, the maximum editing I do is basic Photoshop which works fine with Intel i3-540 and 4 GB of DDR3 ram and GT630 2GB DDR3.
I am planning to buy a pc in next 6 months, need help in choosing the right product.
I have a budget of 50 k can be stretched to 55k max.
The above budget excludes Monitor, keyboard-mouse, and speakers.

Also 6 months is quite long period. Scenario would change by then.

  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Intel core i5 4690 or 4670 or any other or AMD FX-6300 or any other (Vrey Connfused)
    • Motherboard - any compatible motherboard
    • GPU - Not Sure
    • PSU - Not Sure

    1. Gaming - 1600x900 (preferred) don't mind lowering a little
    2. Desktop - 1600x900

  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
Windows 7 64 bit
I know 6 months is a long time but trying to build this pc with my savings.I am still a student so I will need that time.

I would avoid the gtx 960. Its performance scales quite poorly at higher resolutions.
You can consider and r9 280, which costs around the same.

Only 1600*900. Maxwell will be better.

Aside from lower power consumption, how is the 960 better?

As far as i see it, with a 280 :-
you get equal or better performance,
you have the option of playing at higher resolutions later on,
you get a card that has a longer usable life,
all at the same price.

The 960, even with nvidia's new tessellation algorithms, is too gimped for long term use.

Btw, new cards are going to be out by then.

Better off not go with GTX 900 series atm.... somes bugs have been found in current cards specially GTX 970. better wait for fix or give AMD cards a chance. i would rather prefer 7970 ATM.( second hand of course)
