PC Peripherals PC shut down unexpectedly - what the heck happened?

About 10 minutes ago, my PC suddenly shut itself off. I was listening to music and browsing the web - no taxing programs were running. The PC is powered by a 550W Corsair and plugged into a 1000VA APC UPS (which is further connected to a Belkin surge protector). When it shut off (it did not restart) the UPS 'Replace battery' light flashed along with the ear piercing beep.

I turned off the UPS and the mains. Then I tried turning it on again. The UPS passed the self-test and power was going to the monitor and the speakers, but the PC did not boot on pressing the power button on the tower. I again turned off everything and checked the power cord that is going from the PSU to the UPS. (The Corsair has to be connected to the UPS using a plug adapter/converter and I'm using a cheap one I bought from the local electrician) After doing this, the PC powered on and everything seems to be fine now.

Now I want to know what could be the reason for this. This has never happened before (~7 month old PC). I think it may have to do with the adapter I am using to connect the PSU to the UPS. Or maybe there is some other reason?

Sorry if my explanation was not clear enough. :ashamed:
Thanks for reading.

It happened to me once. The PSU plug+adapter was slightly loose on the UPS socket. You must be using a adapter to convert the PSU plug top to India region. Keep that secure and firm.
