pc unable to boot aft oc help!

hey guys my frnd has got p4 2.4 which he o/c to 3.2 and running burning test and suddenly pc shutdown within 15sec and wont start now. what to do plz dont tell that procy got burnt or smthing.......!!!!

do you think using multiple "!!!!!!!" and smiles will get you a better quicker answer? :annoyed:

Dont use IBT, use OCCT.

Is the system completely dead? do the fans or hdd spin?

Dismount the CPU HS and check for burnmarks..

and wen i power it on cpu fan just start for 1 sec then it stops and aft that nothing happens. and where shall i check for burn marks under the processor or just the heatsink.....???:huh:

Before doing d below given trik switch off ur pc frm d main n remove d plug n discharge d remaining power left in ur smps by pressing d power button of d cabinet for bout 5-6 times.
Remove d bios battery wait 4 bout 5 mins than put d batt in again n see if ur pc boots or not.
 
dude, reset jumper pins, it would probably come back to normal again...

Read manual for instructions.

or else

take out CMOS battery for 30 secs.

GUYS i have trield every possibler thing..:
reset cmos
removed battery for 30min
checked the procy cant see any burns
dont know what has happnd but whenevr i switch it on cpu and case fan runs for 1 sec then they stops and nothing happens aft that......!!!

does ur psu fan keeps spinning after u on ur pc n ur caby power led stays on? I thnk either ur proccy is gone or d mobo

no nothing keeps on spinning...they just stops after 1 sec i.e they start at power on and then stops.....i think it might be ram too coz in turn it was also o/c'd coz i cant see any burn marks and everything powers on but stops after 1 sec. thats it....!
 
Then plz check ur psu. 1st remove all d psu connectors frm ur mobo, hdd etc than short d green point with ny black point on d 24pin mobo power connector n run d psu individually then see if d psu fan spins or it stops after 1sec. N plz tel me wat psu r u usin on ur system?

well the whole system is kinda old....psu is 250w zebronics.

can u be plz clear on your point. as i have to short green and black pins and the power on the psu rit!!!

usure it wont lead to electric fire..:D

u hav to short the green pin and ny one of d black. dont worry dat is d standard trick to check a psu. Still if u hav ny doubts u can clear them by asking other members.

Most probably this would be the reason.. BTW is there any beep code heard before the system switces off??
 
Take it a repair shop, symptoms say that one of the power supply IC is fried, you would be lucky if replacements are available.
 
so guys i tried that shorting technique green and black. nothing happnd but just a flicker of fan thats it it starts and stops(and tihs is afterr i shortend the green and black wires) but w/o shortning no movement of fan at all. so there is sm movement aft shortning...which is WHAT...???
is it alive or dead but in any case i think it is in warranty.coz its 2 yrs old ant zeb has 3 yrs warranyt....rit...so i think replacing wont b a big prob. but if this is the cause only.
