i just wanna know frm u all that my frnd have a pc with these config
and he wants to upgrade his pc in around 14000 rs
he listens to music much
but some gaming is also wat he does

p4 2.67 ghz
80 gb pata

15" lcd
1x512 mb ram
4800 watts intex 5.1 spkrs

Hey man, welcome to TE... I'd suggest you upgrade CPU, motherboard and memory + add a soundcard.

1. AMD Athlon 3000+ s939 - Rs.3,200

2. ASUS A8N-VM CSM or MSI RS482M4 - Rs.4,000 (both have decent onboard graphics)

3. 2*512MB DDR400 RAM - Rs.6,000 (assuming current memory is DDR266 or DDR333 - wait a while though, memory prices will drop to 5.5k soon)

4. Creative SB Live 24-bit value - Rs.900 (this is optional)
 
hey guys... Ari_JAI was telling that his friend listens to lots of music and games a bit... if that is the case why do we require to upgrade the CPU, mobo??

its better off to add another 512MB ram, get a 7600GS or 6600GT and then get better speakers like MX5021 from the crapp intex as he listens to lot of music...

The P4 2.67 Ghz he has would be enuf for another 1-2 yrs as gaming is not top priority.... and also P4 2.6Ghz with 7600GS would be better for gaming than an upgraded proc and onboard gfx card.... correct me if i am wrong...
 
My 2 cents.

Sell your current CPU, motherboard, RAM and graphic card, that should get 5-10k.

Now we have around 20-25k.

Get,

AMD 64 3000/3200 AM2/s939

Asus A8N E s939 or a decent AM2 mobo, not M2N E, it is crap

2 X 512MB DDR 400 / DDR2 667 RAM

Spend the rest on the graphic card.
