Hi Guys When Installing My New Xfx 9600gt Card, It Doesnt Go Into That Properly And Inspite Of Being Very Careful And Pushing It Inch My Inch Broke The Pcie-clip.

Now M Using The Card Without The Clip And Its Working Fine. Actually Is The Clip Necessary To Keep The Card In Place ?. If No Then For Why This Annoying Stupid Clip Built In All The Graphics Slots??

Will The Asus Service Center Install Me A Replacement Slot When I Take It To Them ??.

Dude ur warranty is probably a goner [ it is physical damage ].............but if ur lucky u can get it rmaed....
btw clip is there just to support gfx card .............it is not required if u screw the gfx card properly on the cabinate's slotted area..........

Warranty isn't a goner since the PCB isn't physically damaged and the retention (last time I checked) has no functional circuitry on it. Why RMA it? And on what grounds? Is it a faulty product? Was it DOA? Oooh I want an i920, let me break the clip on my stock heatsink (which I don't use) and RMA it, and pay the difference :P

The latter part is correct; just screw it into the appropriate area securely.

they didnt specified the type of physical damage in the manuel or something....they[asus] also didnt said abt that they will accept physically damaged product .....so rma-ing in case, in future if he suffer problems in board ;will be tricky.........

oh by the way may be u will get a product in future that will have functional circuitery on the retention brackets......i m afraid u wont get any by todays standard and todays technology....u hafta wait for functional circuitery on the retention brackets to realise on products......

functional circuitery on the retention brackets....OMG how can u think that....

lulz!

Escsysrq : Your posts show a complete disregard for english grammar. It's quite clear that you don't have decent writing skills. Admit it.

Metalspree's error was a typo. That's where the difference lies.

@anfjavid, as long as the card is firmly seated i doubt that there are going to be any issues so dont waste your time giving the board for RMA.

Vandal here happens to be one of the Editors for a certain magazine known as Digit(or maybe Chip, i could be wrong :ashamed:).

Actually The Retention Clip Is Very Flimsy In This Board- M2n Pv Vm And Since The Card Is Too Heavy It Broke The Clip Even Though I Applied Only A Lil Pressure. The Asus Guys Cud Have Adopted A Better Way To Snap The Card In Place Firmly.

Anyway M Worried Cuz Since The Card Is Big, I Doubt It Might Come Out Of The Slot When The Data Chord Is Shaken Accidently.....

Anyways M Not Going To Rma It And Thanx A Lot For Ur Advice Frnds.....

those mistakes arised bcoz i copy paste words without cross checking coz i was replying in hurry.........

anyways

i have not cared about gramatical accuracy while writing the reply, nor it is taken into major consideration while speaking....neither this is a place to publish ur editorial material as well.....where some one would rather write gramatically and politically correct sentences just to reply a post!!!BS!!

some members here those commenting about my english do appear to have done graduation from some foriegn universities like oxford or some thing or at worst level ,are BA in english.....:|.....

i would rather like to have saperate thread where they can show their infinite knowledge of english language and at least do some thing good to this community, instead of just craping a n00bs thread, ...........BS!!!!!!!!!!
