Phenom good enough for Desktop?

The posters look mindblowing.
Heard that the Quad core AMD is slower than Intel but has a better price to performance ratio. Is it true?

no as the $283 phenom 9600 2.2GHz gets defeated by a $250-280 c2d q6600 2.4GHz & both phenom 9600 & c2d q6600 eat 95W power :P
 
At the moment its not the case. There is no price advantage other than RAM. AMD needs to bring the prices down and quickly.

These will make killer Quads to own for sub $200 range. but they need to get them down to $200.

Since yesterday, i tried betting- Phenom sees major Price cut- say 9700 for $200 odd. :P

Not many agreed but none would lay bets upon the same- all greedy for a bargain deal. :lol:
'Jetway 690G + Phenom'- say for 10K- anyone?? :ohyeah:

STORM- I have heard some say Crysis needs quads- dual cores do so so. :P

anyway, guys, seriously make the quad core jump. you'll need it when Alan Wake releases next year :bleh:

please show some benches showing the diff in crysis performance in dual core vs quad core.

people say many things to you, they also told u that q6600 was available for 10k 2-3 months back. hehe
