40K+ Phone with Good Video Capabilities

Hey Guys,

I am looking for a phone with a good video camera. 3X zoom is something I am really looking into and if it also comes with another 5X zoom then it will be a cherry on cake.
I'm also looking for a good battery life.
I am looking into options like
Vivo x200: 65K
Samsung s22 ultra : 48k
Pixel 7 Pro :44k
Samsung S24 : 55k

Open to other options too

I really want to spend as little as possible to get the job done as I don't consider phone as a good thing to splurge on.
I'll be using this phone to shoot videos while I'm traveling. I thought of looking into a DSLR camera, but it is a headache to carry, and is also not allowed at some places.
Looking for a good advice here.
If somebody is using Vivo X200 I would really like their input on it.
I am also into shooting manual mode. Blackmagic camera is my perffered app for it. As I don't like the ultra processed and sharpened look of a phone.

I am also open to used phones under 30k.

Thanks

S22 Ultra is a no-go for good battery life.

S24+ (52.5k) & X200 should be good camera-wise but Samsung has the superior software & longer software support whereas X200 will have better performance, battery life & faster charging.

E2400 of S24+ is much better than earlier but I won't blame you if you still want to ignore it. I will ignore Pixel as its SoC is not as good as even the E2400.

Samsung does have really good software support. Samsung is also my prefered brand. If I could get the ultra then i would.
S24+ call time is really great in this test 31hrs vs 23.4hr on vivo with even a smaller battery.
A part of me says, I should wait, as big companies will be releasing newer phones with solid state batteries. But, there is always something better coming..

Can't speak for vivo but if video is your priority (i don't know about zooming) then iphones still are far ahead in the competition. In Android world Samsung and Pixel (8 or above) are the clear leaders, whilst Samsung having a clear edge over Pixels.

Not sure if budget allows but s24 ultra really impressed me. If today I am given a choice between gopro 12 and s24ultra. I will choose s24. It even supports 8k videos. And zoom level is just crazy even in videos.
Curved screen and sharp edges so not as comfortable in the hand as S25 U.

YMMV

Plus doesn't have the same quality camera (see #1) as the Ultra. That it should have is a different discussion.

DxOmark Camera ranking by Video

Looks like they haven't ranked the VivoX200 yet. Only X100 is ranked

But at least there is a test of sorts

I know S24+ is inferior to S24U camera, same goes for X200 vs X200 pro. But honestly speaking, unless you compare side by side, you won't know. Samsung & Vivo have better camera algo than Oneplus or Xiaomi in my experience.

I upgraded from S20FE 5G to S23 last year, only selfie cam was noticeably better. Rear cams are better if you compare side by side, but otherwise it is an increment rather than a day & night difference.

OP13T is coming soon but problem remains that Oneplus is not top-notch in camera. Oppo has a good camera algo in some models but apprently they don't want to give that to Oneplus. Xiaomi 15 can be ignored because of the OS. Pixel has to be ignored because of SoC. That leaves you with Samsung if you want a good all-rounder phone (even that has issues, mainly the battery life & charging but apprently Samsung's software game in terms of quick updates has taken a very big hit this year).

Apple - for me it looks ugly from front & software is inferior (too restrictive & lacks some basic things that android had for years).
