Photos of Indian Aviation - Planespotting

Sorry Shady2pac, a bit busy with studying! :)

Regarding the 2 pics you have posted from the HYD Tower:
1. The Parallel Taxiway has been painted with the Runway Markings? I know that GMR advertised it to be a standby Rwy Strip if the Main Rwy was blocked for any reasons, but did not know they had painted it as well!
2. Those simultaneous Pushbacks in the back ground on Image 1 are in face to face or Tail to Tail. Wonder why? How will they navigate out of the Apron?

Nice pics, Btw.

Here are some more:

Turkish Airlines Airbus A340-311. Star Alliance scheme.
Every Airline member of Airline Alliances have to paint atleast one of their Aircraft with the Alliance scheme. TK, part of Star Alliance, has the livery painted on an A340 and a B738. Seen here, the A340 Star Alliance aircraft

Till the time Jet Airways - Air Sahara Take-over case got resolved in the courts, Jet Airways repainted all Sahara Aircraft in this interim plain-white livery.
Seen here is S2's Boeing 737-700 taxing to the Terminal, after landing Rwy 14 at BOM.

: & Gannu: All Boeing 737s have a critical Electrical-Hydraulic Supply Line going from the Floor to the Ceiling near the Area where normally Row No.13 would be. If you can see in the above pic, there is a GAP between letters J and E on the JetLite title. Airbus aircraft (operated by Indigo, IT and IA) don't have this.

Cheers!

1. Yeah Taxiway A is painted with Rwy markings and we have been using the standby runway for operations during scheduled runway closure timing every week.

2 There is a taxiway 'B4' between the two acft in the middle.:). And had the pleasure of giving pushback to two 747s today in the morning. One to Mumbai and the other to Jeddah. Gotto love the Jumbos.

Jet Airways flagship exiting the Main Runway after landing from Juhu side, coming in straight over the Arabian Sea.

ETHIOPIAN 787 - BOM's 1st Commercial Boeing 787 Service took place 25th August Morning on ADD-BOM-ADD (Celebratory Sub, but may replace the 763s ET currently operates). One perspective I could manage, defying some CISF Guards looking at me. Spotting here is becoming nightmarish! :'(

The first thing that strikes you - How massive the wingspan is, when compared to contemporary Wide Bodies. The Engines are big too!

The Profile shot that I really wanted of this magnificent B787 Dream ) Liner!

Hello folks,
Been a while since i last visited the forums. Well, when you've finally bit the bullet, and brought yourself a cool Quadcore, and CM692, you are just much much busier!

Anyways, here is a collection of Images that i've shot at Mumbai Airport. We have this hobby called Planespotting, wherein you watch aircrafts of different types, makes, registrations, countries, liveries, etc and try to capture them in your Memory Card or get their Registrations in your Reg Log Book. The hobby generally develops to people who are one way or the other associated with Aviation, or the Airline Industry, or for some, even residing near an Airport, or under the Approach path does the good. Some of the Enthusiasts then go on to become Pilots, or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
Regards,

Rutvij

or Air Traffic Controllers.:p

good to see aviation buffs and spotters here.. i miss my days in ops but have gained the comforts of a corporate role now :( sigh! life is always a tradeoff

The first Indian 787 Dreamliner got delivered to Air India a couple days ago. Glad to see the planes seeing light of day after working in one of the related project :)

Not the best of pictures but this is taken by my senior in Bangalore TWR. She is Boeing 747-800 which recently started ops btn Bangalore-Frankfurt.

Affirm...Speedbird 277 Hyderabad-London.

Guessed as much. It's the only market in India they deploy their 767's to. Arguably, the 767 is their extreme "budget" equipment on the medium/long haul market. HYD has lost out every single foreign airline except BA.

Oddly, i haven't ever been to HYD in the years since i began my career! lol.. another on the list of "to visit" cities for me then!

Hyd didnt lose too many International Carriers..Lufthansa, Gulf Air and Kuwait Airlines did stop their ops in Hyd though. BA, Emraites, Oman AIr, Saudia, Ethihad, Cathay etc are still operating in HYD.

My bad. I meant European carriers .. the big 3 of AF/LH/BA :)

didnt they do it in the past? I think they used to.. but a while back? think i remember them prior to '09..

either that or I think i've got too old :p

edit: Air France - KLM MD11 used to operate to HYD :)

Good ones Shady2pac. Good to see you contributing to this thread, as generally, people who work inside or assist with Tech Ops do not click pictures enthusiastically due to Security/CISF Issues.
