Is "the complete reference " series good for studying these?

1) Head First HTML, CSS & XHTML

Move on to...

2) Head First JavaScript

3) Head First PHP and Mysql

Now there are two paths you can consider

A) Start building some websites from scratch with the help of tools like SVG, photoshop CS4/5, dreamweaver CS4/5

B)

-> take some home projects, create some websites. with learned tech.

-> Go and adapt more recent technologies in WEB like Adobe air, Ajax.

-> More enhanced and advanced knowledge with DOM, Design aspects, WEB Dev methodologies, Mysql and database management.
