Physical Gold as Investment?

just look for bullion sellers which are old and reputed pay the cash and keep the bullion in the same pack when you want to return they deduct some amount the return payment is in cash as well. i did purchase gold at 32k and at that time he told me gold will touch 60 and it did within 4 years .Gold performed way better than FD and was way safer than FD.

How do I find one? I am in Mumbai.

Gold will always go up in the long run. Please prefer getting physical gold first rather than jumping straight into digital gold. The digital gold is only yours on paper, you can't touch it.

In chaotic type situation only gold that you have at home will save you, your physical money can become regular paper if bunch of top level people in power decide that, as we saw in 2016.

+1. Most cost effective method for physical gold.

You can check Gold monetization scheme. A few banks and fewer branches run this scheme. However, banks don't seem to advertise them.

You get to earn interest on gold sitting idle with you. This may work for gold bars as the banks will melt it.

Thing about dealing with bank is that, it will come under proper tax audit.
Also, GMS comes with locking period, loses access and control which is important while investing in gold.

Zaveri Bazar catch any gujju marwadi

But is there any way to find out reliable place? Also, I stay in Borivali west which has numerous jewellers in same vicinity, biggest ones that too (TBZ, Tanishq, Kalyan, Joyaluks etc). Wondering if I should try all these?
Do these jewellers sell bullion (with cash).
Check this once. I don't plan to buy online, just that the jeweller mentioned is a reputed one and near my home.

So it seems if you ask online, people recommend to get gold bars from the MMTC website / store for assured purity and to be not scammed.

My question is, if i do buy from here, in future, can i sell at any regular jeweller?

you can go to SBI / central bank and get bullions

Just today, someone suggested PhonePe to me. You can start accumulating in small amounts, Rs. 100 onwards. You can start SIP too. You will get Gold Credit in your account. But, they will give you delivery in physical form only in certain units say 0.5g onwards. They will door deliver your physical gold at your doorstep.

Can't trust online delivery of gold. What if it turns out to be a fake piece in the future? It may become a blame shift game. Between three parties i.e. PhonePe, You and the delivery boy.
