Hey,

I have a GTS 250, and I want to use it as a Physx card with my GTX 570...

I have a X58A-UD7...

In which slot should I put in???

Also is 8800GT as good as GTS 250 for Physx???

GTS 250 is better or almost the same from the benchmarks i've seen. But honestly there are few little games running physx and it would be waste if you are getting a new card for that purpose.

^duh! he mentioned it already.

@kidpikoon-You will have to put GTX 570 in the top slot and the GTS 250 in the very bottom. But there are some stabilities issue's regarding these with nvidia drivers. Search a bit and choose the perfect driver. Else you can wait for the other members to reply. Anyways Best of luck.:)

The GPUs will work fine. You can put the secondary (slower card), in any vacant PCI.Ex16 slot. Install the PhysX drivers from the nVidia site, and upon restart it should realize. You would not need to connect the SLI bridge. Once you get the desktop, open the nVidia control panel, and allocate the accelerator you want to assign for PhysX.

Ok, gap it then. Leave one PCI.E lane free and plug it in. Then you should get all right thermals.

That is what i wanted to convey but didn't wrote though, that don't put the card's together as a lot of heat will be blown out from the cards. Separate them, one on top one in bottom one.

Just leave one gap [PCI.E] between them. So the PhysX card would go on the 3rd slot from the top.

^ Thats what m sayin, It cant be done, check my mobo Pics- X58A-UD7

And would 9600GT 512MB be good for physx???

And Does using x8 Slot decrease performance???

gts250 would be a better bet(being a stronger and newer card comparatively)

and the x8 slot shudn't matter much, won't hurt ur performance much...the diff is negligible especially with a gts250,so u need not worry about that!

the gts250 can never make use of all that bandwidth anyways as far as i know!

Okay, sorry. Ya. The PCI.E docks are close

Put it on the last one. x8 is fine for Physx.

^He said it's a double slot card and can't put it there it wouldn't fit. Try using the 9600GT for a while it's a Single slot card. But the GTS250 will be better.

^^

Any GeForce core can be used as a PhysX card. Ideally greater than 8600GT should do the job.

I know it can be used...

But I have heard using a card like 9400GT as Physx actually lowers the performance, so its better not to use 9400GT as physx at all...

I am asking is it same for 9600GT???

i'm not too sure about the technicalities but linus in that video said , physx processing is better off in a single card than with a dedicated one . he also runs a few benches later to prove that ... and anyways 570 is a way superior card so a 9 series will only deteriorate the performance. again i'm a pc n00b so don't take my word , this is what i feel :P
