What is the cheapest and easiest way to enable physx in my RIG - check my sig. ?

I dont have an extra pci slot to add an extra nvida 8xxx card to use it as a physics card

^LOL could you post the link you posted a while back, before you edited it out?!

ATI cards do not support Physx, as yet. Nor can you club an nV card to pair it with ATi cards to enable it.

as per GENL from NGOHQ forum released a patched driver to use a nvidia graphics (8xxx or later) as a physx card in Windows 7.. Since i don't have an addition pci slot to plug in an additional nvidia gfx card - Can I use an old Ageia Physx Card+GENL Patched nvidia physx driver to enable physx - anyone tried this ???

AFAIK the new Physx makes use of the CUDA technology , so they wont work with the old cards or the ATI ones.

sombody @ ngohq had released some drivers initially which made phyx run on ATI cards, but there have been no updates on this for long time. seems like he faced lots of resistance from both nvidia and ati.

As you may or may not know, Windows 7 allows two display drivers to be used at once - like in Windows XP. Therefore, it is possible to use an Nvidia card for PhysX and ATI card for graphics rendering. Sadly, since the release of 186 graphics drivers, Nvidia has decided to block this feature anytime a Non-Nvidia GPU is present in the system (Even IGPs).

Luckily, GenL has released an experimental beta patch which intercepts disable-PhysX-if-Radeon-is-present-code.

thanks...I know it allready..my roadblock is lacking of an additional pci 16x slot in mobo :(

I've run a ATI 4850 and an nVidia 8800GTS side by side in XP and Win7 for the Physx effects in Mirrors Edge. Unfortunately, this seems to be the only game where such a combination doesn't give any performance boost, though the game still works fine.

what do u mean by performance boost - increasing frame rate ? After enabling physx are gettting same fps ??
