Where can I get Pico PSU India? Only site that offers them is pi+ but they are overcharging for it. Earlier cheap ones were available on Amazon and Flipkart but now I can't find them anywhere else.

For those who don't know Pico PSU is like 12volt to 24pin atx converter. So that you can use any 12volt power supply to power a motherboard

I have the few of the piplus ones, they've been okay. I remember paying full price for the original PicoPSU so the pricing on these clones are agreeable to me. The cost is for the convenience in having them delivered within days instead of weeks.

I'm still receiving my ebay orders from China, it's taking about three to four weeks. Latest one arrived Friday.

Are these as reliable and safe as a basic gold rated ATX PSU? Can they be used in a NAS system and are they efficient?

They have no protection, you'll need a well regulated 12V power supply. The 12V is passed through as it's received and the board only steps down and provides 5V and 3.3V, thats how it's so small.

If you can get a high quality 12V power supply, like a meanwell or server power supply, it's a very compact solution. Efficiency is dependent on what you're using, these are often better than Gold rated if you're using a server power supply.

12V LED power supplies are tempting but they all have far too much ripple and/or noise.

A multibay NAS with spinning drives would pull too much power for most PicoPSU clones.
