Folks,

I am having frequent visits to my hometown and due to which my poor plants are suffering. Can anyone point me some good dripper/emitter that I can install and forget about?

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can do this on your own, run (HDPC) pipes from your water tank to the plants and give a small outlet, there are samll drippers available, you can even use very small pipes as outlets (pipes in the thickness of a straw). This is what even professional drip irrigation system installers do.
(if the water is hard water, you need to clean the pipes once in an year or so, as the salt will form a layer in the pipes)
As various plants need different amount of water, you can buy different dripper for different plants and attach it.

I think, no one will be available in your garden for days together, in that case its better to get micro dippers. So that water will be discharged very slowly for days together. You can use something like this
Micro Dripper

What I did in similat case is that I took water in a large container and placed it on some height, And dipped one end of a thick cotton thread in water and other end in soil.
With Capillary action the water sipped down, One can control the amount of water with number of threads.
The thread should be made of natural material, as nylone threads wont work.

wool works pretty well. better than cotton threads. Even in summers when its hot. I have used it many times.
