Play-asia Delivery

hey

i've ordered twice from there... both the times it took almost a month...it takes a very long time to reach here in mumbai...

Yes, their delivery is really slow. But that's because of the free shipping option. You can use other shipping method if you want things faster.

the other options are there but they charge a bit too much for shipping...and then there's extra custom duty charges... luckily there was no duty charged on the games i bought with free shipping...

The first time I placed an order (XCM VGA Box), I never got it even after two months, Play-Asia guys were able to trace the package till the customs guy's, but no information after that. It was addressed to home and I guess the customs guy's simply pinched it simply because there was no means to track it.

Play Asia was however good enough to give a store credit for the value of the item. I bought MGS4 with it and this time I gave them my office address again with the free shipping option. I got the game in about 15 days. I guess the customs guy's didn't dare to pinch this time as its addressed to my office.

Thanks to all of you. Its already been 20 days since it has been shipped so have kept my fingers cross that i receive the parcel. If it fails to deliver then does playasia reimburses the money or we have to face complete loss

You could also check with you local customs office. When I ordered from play-asia, my parcel was stuck with them for two weeks before it got to me. (took me about a month in all.) Go to your local post office, give them your tracking number. Tell them you think it may be stuck at your customs office, they'll give you a telephone number you can call and check on progress.

A friend of mine ordered a Xbox 360 wireless controller from play-asia, but it never reached him. Finally play-asia gave him a store credit. in that way i guess they have a good track record.

The parcels must be getting "pinched" off from the customs or the post office if it is an untracked shipment.

i take mine with 'free' shipping....the basic shipping prices are already added to the item cost so the prices are higher than when you check on other sites
one of my parcels never made it here so PA gave me store credit for the whole amount

One last question before I do a couple of pre-orders!

Any customs duties to be paid for the game discs when delivered by the post-office peeps? I hope they're the ones who're going to deliver it.

if you are lucky then NO - or else in some cases those nasty custom guys will charge you or hold your stuff.

i had to pay customs only once when the dabba was over 6-7k

bill on the box is in yen but if customs people assume it is rupees, you may get double customs charged(yen~0.5 rupee)

Not a guesswork; rather its a conclusion based on various one time importers..search with playasia on TE and you will know what I mean.

if what you are receiving is over Rs. 5k in value, you will have to pay custom duty. also note that it should be ordered in personal name and address.
