Play store apps stuck on downloading, very frustrating!

Almost every day or every other day, when I'm downloading some new app or updating a previous one from play store, it would get stick at downloading! This would happen with some apps while others would download just fine. I tried rebooting the device, rebooting the router, changing the dns, force closing playstore and the download manager; but nothing works.

What baffles me is that every it downloads just fine over 3G! If an app is getting stuck, I just turn off wifi and use 3G instead and it downloads just fine.

I don't get it

P.S. - I'm facing this on both the S2 (MIUI) and N7 (Stock)

I think its problem related to your wireless router. Faced similar issue before changing the router solved my issue. But before buying test your connection with your friend"s router if you can.

I'm not going to change my router, I just bought it ~6 months back. If there's a problem with it, ill fix it.

But I don't see how it could be a problem with the router as the entire playstore is fully accessible and I can still download some apps.

Router is Asus N13U b1

Ah sorry then test this router on some other connection.
Or Test your connection with speedtest.net apps from your android device and see how much speed you are geting in upload. For me download is 55kb/s and upload is O. I can't even open some site like imdb.com on my old router.
 
Delete the play store odex
Move the updated play store to system....

Else push the modded play store from xda to system

There are no odex files in systems/apps on my S2 but they are present on my stock N7
Also how is this related to it getting stuck at downloading, could you please explain?

I think it's an issue with the my ISP - MTNL, as it works flawlessly on 3G
